The object before me is a box of mirrors, reflecting the boundaries between my own humanity and instinctual movements of the hand. I wonder what becomes our physical relic, and create objects through the lens of investigating the liminal zone between dream and desire. Objects become these little moments parodying pop-culture, satirizing our dystopian present, critiquing our dystopian future, becoming our remembered past. In clay, the uncanny and the dream-like state can be made into permanent, little worlds within themselves that visit the familiar but entertain the absurd. The object becomes eternal. Relics of what we know conflated with what could possibly exist. Art as evidence of our humanity.
