I approach the composition of my work with spontaneity and immediacy, discovering the form during the process of making it. My work continues to explore form, using surface decoration and texture as an integral part of the piece. I use hand building and throwing techniques to create series of one of a kind vessels and sensual sculptural forms in stoneware. I am inspired by the Natural World. My visual and tactile vocabulary derives from minimalist traditions of my European background. I want my work to evoke an emotional and sensory response and pursue this in my choice of form, as well as refinement of the surface quality.
