A Philadelphia artist, that has been working in small scale for more than twenty years, I explore different techniques to create functional work in porcelain. The hand built box has a nestled lid and hand carved circle pattern in the black underglaze. The tiny object is meant to bring joy and wonder. The use of thin slabs of porcelain highlights the strength and fragility of the object while providing a neutral backdrop for decorative surface.
