I am profoundly enamored of Clay in every way, shape and form! I love the rich browns and the translucent porcelains equally. I have always gotten my greatest inspriration from nature however, the aesthetics of the pottery from Japan to Native American Pueblo pots give me joy and continue to inspire as well. I have used my Clay experience to express my feelings about polítical and social issues from Standing Rock to Black Lives Matter to Water for all. I tend to throw on a wheel most often, but, of late, explore handbuilding more to incorporate personal sculptural elements into my pieces. I am very grateful to have had the priveledge to explore and grow with Clay while working full time teaching. Clay is a magical experience which should belong to all children and adults now more than ever. I preach this and believe we must continue to make equitable this extraordinary, healing opportunity.
