My art is a glimpse into my identity, an exploration as to who I am and what troubles me, what makes me move, what my purpose is. As I go through phases and milestones, I’m collecting new information about myself, interpreting those feelings and moments into clay. Personal experiences are difficult for me to share in words and publicly, so I visualize elaborate narratives that serve to express those difficulties in multifaceted ways. Pieces of my personality come to life through obscure, playful characters I conjure up in illustrations. My ideas and stories are constantly changing and evolving with me, according to my personal story and chapter in my life that I’m living in. I make art as a means of escape from the stress and often mundane cycle of everyday life; my sculptures are a window into the mental world I find myself constantly trapped in. My work is a collection of stressful and often joyous, anecdotes translated through whimsical, sometimes dark, imagery.
