Alyssa Black

I am awed by the virtue of transformation. My work begins with an unassuming lump of clay and its infinite potential. I use delicate porcelain, which is compressed, thrown, paddled, stretched, cut, dried, and exposed to extreme temperature and atmosphere. I push the physical limits of the medium and process to create objects that evoke a sense of wonder and delight.
