My work explores the invisible and subtle ways violence and neglect show up in our most intimate relationships. It is important to me that the works be visually beautiful, as an invitation for the viewer to experience something that seems benign but upon further inspection is full of subtle danger and pain. With these three works, I took on the fun challenge Small Favors offers to explore my wound vessels series combined with my more narrative painted works of cobalt and white glaze on red clay. The process was intuitive and meditative. I enjoy the result of these bizarre and obsessive little pieces that have as much to say on their interior as they do on their outer skin.
