JoAnne is a potter who makes one of a kind pots for every day use. Her pots are made from porcelain or stoneware clay bodies, often small batched, and are wheel throw and altered. Each pot is unique. She fires her work in wood and wood/salt kilns to draw out the unique qualities of each clay body and give each piece its character. While some variables are controllable, others are not, and the resulting wood fired pots reflect this tension.
