Precision is a key component within my vessels. My initial thought on the wheel is a consideration in conveying an expansive interior space. From this expansive interior I seek to generate a dynamic exterior object. Stripping away material during the trimming state is where the final form is birthed. I choose to use porcelain for its receptiveness to detail in all states. The skin of my vessels is constantly explored. Sensitivity within the glazing and firing process must be shown in order to preserve the essence of the piece. The depth achieved with the combination of matte and gloss glazes creates both a visual and tactile stimulus.
