Sandra Kosinski

I first studied ceramics as an art form at California College of the Arts and then as a science at The Pennsylvania State University, Stevens Institute of Technology and Rutgers University. After working in materials science and physics for over 30 years I returned to practicing ceramics as an art. My understanding of ceramic materials and chemistry inform my process while being a constant reminder that I was not meant to control the outcome completely but to embrace the idiosyncrasies. I continually experiment with ceramic materials and techniques, attend workshops and study the work of other artists. I now relish the opening of a kiln or pit to discover what the fire and I have wrought.
