A VISTA, A WINDOW, A MOMENT, AN EXPRESSION.
When my feet walk the arid land, body lies on the rocks, eyes absorb the colors of a passing day, my nose smells the sage and my heart then finds stillness. My spirit contemplates and remembers…my hands connect and record the beauty of Nature and life. Water: the deserts liquid gold and cleanser. Sun: the desert’s luminescence, warmth and intensity. Wind: the desert’s movement, sculptor and song. Sand & Rock: the desert’s formations, monumentality, subtleties, textures and geological traces. Expression, presence and energy are the essence of how I approach clay. Pinching and drawing, I trace emotive responses gathered from the desert’s influence in my life. This is the journey of a soul within the desert landscape.
