My work is a balance of ideas and motivations, and I am equally committed as an artist and a researcher, with a primary focus on glaze chemistry.. My intertest in glaze chemistry comes from a thirst for knowledge and understanding, usually beginning with “I wonder if I can make this” as the question. Typically focusing on crystalline glazes thrown on delicate porcelain pots, I also balance my work with the pursuit of non-traditional and experimental glazes. Ian Childers
