The Claymobile Outreach Program
The Claymobile serves The Clay Studio's educational mission by partnering with schools, community organizations and social service agencies to drive invaluable art experiences into communities that need it most. In this 100% mobile program, trained arts educators bring everything required for a ceramics class to a partner location, and transport student work back to the Claymobile support center for firing. Each year, the program provides an innovative and hands-on approach to arts learning to nearly 2,000 disadvantaged students in the Philadelphia region, a shocking 75% of whom have never had any formal arts education.

The Clay Studio Equipment Fund
At the heart of The Clay Studio lies the equipment necessary for ceramics production. The Studio’s resources serve 12 Resident Artists, 40 Associates, and 200 students per term, while the Claymobile Outreach Program's support center fires the work of an additional 1,700 students annually. Kilns are operating day and night, and each repair taxes an already overextended schedule.
Each spring, The Clay Studio mounts a drive to raise money for studio equipment, the lifeblood of our operations for artists and students. Students and artists use kilns, wheels and other essential equipment year round, and continued support from our community of supporters and enthusiasts allows us to improve our facilities and replace all aging equipment in a timely fashion.
